Setting up email accounts.
So you have your hosting account but you still need to send and recieve emails, be it to customers or to suppliers. Benoks Hosting provides POP3 and IMAP email support! Now for the guide itself.
Login to your cPanel account and use the username and password that you were supplied with when you signed up. If you have logged in successfully the you will see the cPanel screen!
Look for the "Mail" category and click the "Email Accounts" icon. You will be taken to a new screen which we will use to setup your accounts. You need to know that the Copper account can only have a maximum of five email accounts, if you require more you will need to upgrade.
You should see a dropdown box with your domain or sub-domain inside. If you have more than one you can change it by clicking the box and selecting the domain you wish to create an email account on. Next to the domain box is an empty box which you will need to type the name you wish to appear before the @ symbol, for example, joebloggs - you do not need to add the extension!
Now enter a password below. As you type a password it will be checked against a password analyser. This analyser will check to see if your password is secure. Red = unsecure, Yellow = medium and Green = secure, don't worry too much if your password is red or yellow. Now click the "Create User" button. If you want to generate a secure random password click the "Generate Password" button. Be sure to type your password again, below to check that you entered it correctly.
Below the password boxes is a "Quota" box. Quota is the amount of memory in MB that the email account can use. If you require more then you will need to upgrade your account. For unlimited quota enter 0 into the box.
Now just click "Create" and that is it your email has been created. When you have clicked the Create button you will be asked if you want to setup your email client to retrieve your emails. Currently there are only a few clients which are setup for automatic setups, we do intend to add more. For now, please submit a ticket or ask here.
