A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you have a Linux shared package with us and you wish to enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can select one email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature right away, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
